I'm Janice Chuang, an artist and freelance illustrator based in San Francisco.
My journey here took some time: I graduated from MIT with a degree in Biology and then moved to Tokyo when I felt unsure of my path. Growing up, my room was always full of art supplies and projects and I suppose I really should've guessed where my future lay—especially when my favorite part of science classes was drawing plant cells and RNA transcription diagrams—but it wasn't until a friend commissioned my work that I realized that art could be more than a hobby.
I have since worked with incredible clients including Bloomingdale's, Adidas, Whole Foods Market, Sephora, and the New York Junior League. When I'm not working on a new drawing, I enjoy afternoon naps, gin cocktails, and taking pictures out of airplane windows.
